Barnes & Noble and Borders: All in all, I prefer Borders -- they've got better coffee, much better iced coffee, and a better selection of snack foods. Their iced cappucino is especially good. However, they've also been steadily jacking their prices up since this summer, so Barnes & Noble is, I think, now the cheaper alternative. Also, Barnes & Noble is a bit less crowded, and their tables spread out beyond the strict cafe area, so it's easier for actually relaxing and talking with friends. [RS, BMC96, 4/6/96]

The Barnes & Noble Store in Bryn Mawr has a really nice night time manager who really understands the stress Main Line students are under and is always available for a friendly howdy-do and some assistance in the stacks. Their cafe lattes are heavenly. [JS, 2/24/1998]
